Rick St. Onge was appointed Acting Division Director of the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, Division of Consumer Services in April 2019. As Director of Consumer Services, he oversees the regulation of residential mortgage lenders and servicers, mortgage brokers, escrow agents, consumer finance companies, payday lenders, money transmitters, and student education loan servicers. Rick previously served as the Division’s Examination Chief since 2012. Prior to joining DFI in 2003, Rick was an owner/operator of a mortgage broker company and a mortgage banker. He has 30 years’ experience in the residential lending arena.
Rick served six and a half years on the Multi-State Mortgage Committee (MMC) and was the Chair in 2014.
Rick was honored as the recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Service Award presented by the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators (AARMR). The award is presented to those who have made outstanding contributions in their field and to the success of AARMR.
Rick is the President of the Money Transmitter Regulators Association’s (MTRA) Board of Directors since 2017, he represents the MTRA on the NMLS Policy Committee.
